Trees4Trees™ has a new public face. The new website has been under construction for several months with many new features and has gone live in mid-February.

Along with a new lighter, cleaner look, the site emphasizes T4T's work in the field and the benefits with more images and information our activities.

Trees4Tours – On a mission to reduce emissions

There has recently been an increased interest in joining the Trees4Trees program for the purpose of reducing or 'offsetting' CO2 emissions. One such company is ViaVia tours who had the novel idea of offsetting the carbon they release in their business of providing tours and introducing Indonesian culture to domestic and foreign tourists through planting trees.

Taking it Full Circle

Trees4Trees™ has been planting trees in Central Java communities since 2007. One of the big benefits of community forestry is that in addition to added tree cover it provides an income for those communities when the trees are harvested. Some of the fast growing species planted by Trees4Trees are already coming to harvest-able maturity.

February 2013 Audit FSC – Controlled Wood

ABP, T4T and a local Farmer Group pass FSC Controlled Wood Risk Assessment.

 

This is a very important milestone for all the parties because it ensures that the Farmer Group will receive a premium price for their timber and part of that premium will be allocated for preservation of high value natural forests in the area as well as watersheds and culturally important local sites.
